Featured Author: Alexandra A. Black

Hey! I’m Alexandra but most of my followers may know me under the pen name Alexandra A. Black.

I am twenty-three years old, half Lebanese and half Romanian. I am currently studying medicine, a fact that most people find odd given I write.

Silver Infernos is not my first book, although it is the first to be published under my name, I’ve written around 100 books as a ghostwriter. It was sad to see my creations go, and others get recognition for my hard work but it was and still is a good and honest way to earn money through university.

Silver Infernos is the first book in the Forsaken Destinies series and it will be available starting April 29th. You can follow me on Instagram for future links and news about the series.

What sets your book apart from all others?

My book is lightly based on Greek Mythology. It is about a girl who has always wished for more but never believed she could have it. On her twentieth birthday, she discovers she is a prophecy and is thus drawn into a world of danger and evil. When I created the story I imagined myself to be Nevinda. She, like most of us readers, wished for an adventure, for a story worth going down in history. I want my readers to find hope in her. I want them to see that there is hope in finding our adventure no matter the age or circumstance.

Who should be reading your book?

My target audience is anyone who finds pleasure in tales of gods, elves, and faeries. Anyone who enjoys a little evil and darkness.

If someone is in search of a tale filled with unexpected turns and twists, who enjoys Greek mythology  and magical worlds, then they should probably give it a shot.

What authors inspired you most and how so?

Cassandra Clare was by far my greatest inspiration. The way she describes things, the emotions she puts into her characters is beyond me. I’ve studied her work and have greatly learned from them.

Sarah J. Maas, however,  motivates me. When I look at her and everything she has accomplished I can’t help myself but say-I want to be her.

What advice do you have to offer in support of other authors?

When you feel like stopping. Remember why you started. It wasn’t for the reads. It wasn’t so others will praise you or enjoy your story. It was so you can live the journey at the tips of your fingers. It was for you!

What is your genre of choice and why?

Fantasy was always my thing. I find it fascinating to create new worlds. Although as a ghostwriter I usually write romance, I doubt I will publish such a genre under my name anytime soon.

What are your future writing endeavors?  What’s next on your authorship agenda?

The sequel in the Forsaken Destinies series is already written and hopefully will be out shortly after Silver Infernos. And although I cannot divulge too much about it, I can safely promise it will bring unexpected plot-twists.

Is writing for you synonymous with living and breathing, or just something you do as a hobby, and how so and why?

I can’t imagine not writing. People always tell me that when I finish university and am going to be a doctor I won’t have much time for it. I can’t imagine that. Not seeing the world in the bright colors of words is simply impossible. ..
