There is no wrong way to go about naming your characters, but as Shakespeare wrote, “What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” I’d say you have to consider your audience somewhat, having a name relatable not only to your audience but the theme and setting of your story, as well as a memorable name, -is important.
